There’s something about an owl that feels like it knows more than it’s letting on.
This piece is all about that stare. Calm, intense and impossible to ignore. I built the owl out of heavy texture and bold layers of turquoise, orange, gold, rust and white, allowing parts of it to almost disappear into the chaotic background.
Up close, there’s a lot happening—scrapes, splatters, marks and thick palette-knife work. Step back, and everything comes together around that one piercing eye.
It’s bold, colourful and definitely not a painting that quietly hangs on the wall. It takes up space.
